SMUGGLED: ! 10 SUSPECTED ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ARRESTED AFTER BEING FOUND HIDDEN IN THE BOOTS OF BRAND NEW £70,000 MASERATIS SPORT CAR.

·  Nine adults and a child were detained inside the luxury sports cars today

A group of ten suspected illegal immigrants have been arrested after they were found hiding in the boots of brand new £70,000 Maseratis on their way to a British dealership from an Italian factory.

Nine adults and a child, believed to be from Vietnam, were detained in the luxury sports cars, which were being carried on the back of a car transporter in Egham, Surrey, this afternoon.

The transporter had just pulled up outside the Maranello Maserati dealership at 1pm today when officers swooped on the vehicles. 

Police issued pictures showing shoes, clothing and other possessions inside one of the boots of the cars, which had protective covers over their bodywork.

The adults were transferred to the UK Visa and Immigration centre in Dover, Kent, and the child was taken to a custody centre, as a place of safety, to await assistance from social services

Officers from Surrey Police confirmed that the driver of the vehicle has not been arrested.

It is not yet clear when or where the group boarded the cars, said to be Maserati Quattroporte S worth £69,235, and how long they had been hiding inside. 

Maseratis can range from £50,000 to £115,000 for a top of the range model.

                                      STATE OF EMERGENCY

               During one of the state of emergency in France, after the magazine shooting incident, the government declared a curfew in some areas, from 7:00PM.
